Power requirements
For your safety and to prevent any overload on your electricity grid, a spa should always be connected to separately earthed groups with 16, 20 or 25 amp fuses. A spa bubble bath (we do not sell jacuzzi baths) can require a lot of electricity at times. Consider, for example, switching on all jets, the waterfall, the ozonator, the air blower and the heating simultaneously. Power requirements vary by spa.
In all cases, a separate power group must be installed and the cable must run directly from the meter cupboard to the place where the spa will be located (plus 5 meters extra to feed the cable in on one of the sides). The cable must never extend under the spa! The groups must also be connected via 1 earth leakage.
The power cable must run directly from the meter cupboard to the place where the spa hot tub will be located and approximately 5 meters extra to allow the cable to enter on one of the sides. If necessary, place a waterproof switch at a distance of at least 1.5 meters from the spa so that you can immediately turn off the power on site.

Install the electricity yourself
To connect the electricity from the meter cupboard to the garden, use splash-proof junction boxes, sockets and/or switches. These materials are equipped with lockable flaps and a rubber seal. Use YmVk or YmVk-axis cable for outdoors, the YmVk cable is for above the ground and the YmVk-axis (the extension ‘-axis’ stands for shielding) is for underground. To guide the cable through the facade, drill a 16 millimeter hole. As extra protection, a PVC pipe (electrical pipe) is slid through the hole.
Outside on the facade you can use an extra junction box, easy if you want to use the power for other purposes later. For an above-ground line you can use YmVk or YmVk-axis cable, which you secure every 40 centimeters with cable saddles. For an underground pipe, use YmVk-as cable (shielded cable).
The cable has a braided metal jacket for protection and grounding. The ground cable (YmVk axis) is buried at a depth of approximately 60 centimeters. It is permitted to put “normal” YmVk cable in the ground provided it is laid in an impact-resistant PVC pipe. When transitioning from the garden to the facade of a shed or house, include an extra loop in the cable, so that there is some slack in the cable during lowering.
Be careful with electricity
If you want to connect the spa yourself, we will provide you with all the necessary information and a connection diagram in advance. Be careful with electricity, don’t take any risks! If you do not have sufficient knowledge, have the electricity installed by a qualified electrician.
